Using Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets For Magnetic Therapy

There are several different ways of using neodymium rare earth magnets for Magnetic Therapy. The manufacturing of neodymium magnets, also known as rare earth magnets, began in 1983. They are made of an alloy of iron, boron and neodymium, a rare earth element.

Neodymium has a bright, silvery metallic luster; however, as one of the more reactive rare earth metals, it quickly oxidizes in air. These magnets are brittle and are often plated with a protective coating of metals such as nickel to help protect them from breaking and chipping.

Neodymium magnets are also highly corrosive. Some manufacturers apply a multi-layer plating of Nickel-Copper-Nickel to help prevent corrosion. Sometimes referred to as neos or neo magnets, neodymium rare earth magnets are sometimes coated with epoxy, which helps to extend the life of the magnet.

A neodymium is the most widely used type of rare earth magnet. They have replaced other types of magnets in many applications in modern products that require strong permanent magnets, such as motors in cordless tools, hard disk drives in computers, and magnetic fasteners.

Neodymium Magnets: The Strongest Biomagnet

Neodymium rare earth magnets are able to hold more magnetism and are currently the strongest permanent biomagnet available. Experts agree that a neodymium healing magnet gives the deepest penetration. A neodymium magnet is the most affordable type of rare earth magnet. When used as a biomagnet, this permanent magnet emits a static magnetic field that can be placed on the body to reap the benefits of Magnetic Therapy.

There are many different ways to utilize these healing magnets. When using Magnetic Therapy for pain a neodymium magnet can be placed directly on the body or in body wraps.

Manufacturers of magnetic link jewelry, such as stainless steel magnetic jewelry and titanium magnetic jewelry, place neodymium’s on the back of their magnetic therapy jewelry placing the north side of the magnet so that it faces the body when being worn. In this case, the jewelry is considered to be unipolar.

Rare earth magnets can also be used to create neodymium jewelry, which is held together only by the strength of the magnets themselves. The photo below shows some of the neodymium jewelry that I've created. I found it very fun to play with the various size, shapes and colors of the magnets to create an array of styles.

Regardless of the application, neodymium rare earth magnets are strong permanent biomagnets that are affordable and easy to use. These healing magnets can be used to alleviate magnetic field deficiency and other symptoms.
