Tensioning barbed wire.

Get a proper wire strainer/puller and do the job correctly. Pulling with a loader is stupid.

Mild steel barbed wire needs stretched. Tension it up to the (correctly braced) strainer. Then go to the middle of the barbed run. Using your claw hammer, pull the wire away from the stabs across the field as far as you can, then go tension the barb again.

High tensile barb just needs pulled up with the strainer.

In most high tensile nets there is a kink in the horizontal wire. The correct tension is when this kink is flattened to half its untensioned size. Buy a wire puller and do the job properly. It'll pay for itself the first time you use it because the fence (if the end strainers are put in properly) will last years longer.

Would you spend hundreds, even thousands on a machine, and then adjust it with a sledge hammer instead of using spanners?Get a proper wire strainer/puller and do the job correctly.
