hooking a tv into a smartboard?

Have to chime in!

I was the only teacher, when our boards were being installed, who knew enough to ask that cable/dvd/vcr be hooked up. Teachers after me were lucky enough to have this done - now the teachers before me want it too I LOVE having my cable running through my projector along with the smart board. I even have speakers that split between the computer and the audio out from my smart hook up so I don't need the speakers in the projector! This summer while I worked in the classroom, my son ran his xbox through my DVD player and had a BLAST playing on a really big screen!

I think one of the previous posters mentioned this - one word of caution... make sure your cable is running through a DVD/VCR with a TUNER! Newer models do not include tuners and you will need a cable box (which most schools don't have in classrooms) to convert the signal. I have my cable running into an old VCR player (VCR is shot but the tuner works perfectly). From there I have audio/video cables running through my ceiling to my new DVD/VCR - which then runs back up the wall into the back of the projector.

Another piece of advice - once it is up and running - label every wire and take pictures of the different connections from different angles so you can reconnect easily if it ever gets disconnected. Have fun!
